Re: looking to upgrade my rig.

Looks good, but let me play devil's advocate:

You're getting a Canon EF lens mount on the Letus, and a 35mm lens without aperture control. Now, I know you have the aperture control on the relay lens, but think about the future, and what camera you'll be using the lenses you buy with in 3 years.

If you already have a bunch of EF lenses, this may be a good choice, but speaking as someone who has a bunch of EF lenses and an AF100, I wish I had went the Nikon route instead so I always had an aperture ring to use instead another expensive electronic mount to buy with every camera.

Again, if your upgrade path has something like a C300 in the stars, by all means go ahead with the EF mount, but if you're not sure (and who is with NAB around the corner) you may want to future proof your lens collection with iris-ring-equipped models.

Just my $.02!

Re: looking to upgrade my rig.

Wow great information that I didn't think of.

I need to look into a lens similar with a Nikon mount and just swap out the letus extreme.

I still need info on a rail system to mount it all.

Something like this perhaps?

Or a more compact version:

Assumed you had a HM700 or similar...

the Zacuto look like a great option, but this is my first time buying any kind of rail system, what additions would I need to add to as far as support and modules to get the full effect of the rail system?

Re: looking to upgrade my rig.

I shoot with a GY-200u and Letus, and I use the Zacuto Zephyr. You don't need anything else besides the little adjustable riser bracket that should come with your Letus (it slides on the rails and then thumb-screws into the bottom of the Letus).

Don't forget that the Letus will take about a stop of light away from you, which is really too bad with our type of camera. You'll need plenty of light!
