Anyone in London with HM700 or 790 and Fuji 13x?
Hi Everyone
We own a JVCHD100, which we are looking to replace after several years good service. The stock Fuji 16x lens on the 100 is pretty awful to be honest and we might be interested in replacing it with one or two 700s or 790s if we can get a chance to see the performance with the Fuji 13x. No dealer here in the UK seems to carry any 1/3" lens stock and JVC themselves are putting out their loaner with the 16x old stock lens!!! I'd love to see the 700/790 + 13x Fuji for real and the only way I can do this is to take a look at someone else's kit. Can anyone help? We're in NE London. FWIW, can anyone comment on the performance of the Fuji 13x with regard to resolution and, in particular, chromatic aberration? For reference, in this respect I'd rate the old stock 16x at 1/10, the EX1/3 stock lens at 6/10, the new stock 1/3" Canon at 5/10 and the built-in lens of the Canon XF305 at 8/10. Any help/advice on this greatly appreciated! |

Re: Anyone in London with HM700 or 790 and Fuji 13x?
Don't know about the JVC element of this but as I have the panasonic HPX371 I can say that the XT17x stock lens from fuji is far better than the older 16x.
I have also heard that the 13x is a good lens and is very useable, the 18x 1/3" from fuji is also superb but is rather pricey so best left to the broadcasters. There was a second hand 13x on BB list for £1600 recently but as for demo stock I appreciate what you are saying and these lenses are not very common in the UK.
