Convergent Design/Nano Flash and the HM700
Contemplating an HM700 purchase, but am teetering also on the EX3 Sony. Anyone know if the NanoFlash is compatible with the HM700 allowing capture at higher data rates?

Both get connected with the HDSDI-plug
to the nanoflash, which allow recording in ProRes 422. |

We connected one to the GY-HM700 last week at DV Expo in Pasadena, and it seemed to work fine. The camera trigger even started and stopped the recording on the Convergent Design unit. To confirm that all of the features work properly, further testing would need to be done. But from what I saw, this is a very nice little recorder.

The AJA KiPro is the ProRes recorder. I prefer the CD approach - XDCam is bound to be supported natively by all NLE's not just FCP.. John |
