anyone know if the dr hd100 will be compatible with the new hm700?

Yes but only in 19mbps and 25Mbps bitrates (and downconverted DV.)

I'm toying with the idea of keeping my DTE if I sell my HD110, just to extend my record times when HDV is fine. Hmmm...

hey tim, so will the dr-hd100 capture the xdcam ex codec 19mbs or just hdv 19mbs from the hm700? thanks

The same as if it was connect to a HD 100 or 200: HDV stream (m2t or .mov wrapper) or DV NTSC/PAL.

Amos - make that new sony "wrapper". 19mps mpg2 is the same "codec" and compression quality whatever the package. If your edit system wants .mp4 then you may have an issue. I doubt Focus or even clipwrap would develop a translator. Although possible, this would be a smaller market than those who wanted .mov wrappers over m2t, since 19mbs .mp4 probably won't be used as much as 35mbs.
