1920 x 1080 is one of 2 "flavours" of 1080 HD, the other being 1440 x 1080. The 24, 25, 30 and 60 designate frames per second. P designates progressive scan, i designates interlaced scan. 1280 x 720 is the other flavour of HD, 720P.

JVC-GY-HM100 format

Hello all.I am planning on purchasing a JVC-GY-HM100.You can transfer footage directly to a Mac and edit that format without having to encode it to another format. But,I do'nt have a Mac,I have a PC.Can I still transfer footage to my PC?And what do I have to do to the format in order to edit the footage? Will quality suffer and be lost?Should I buy a Canon XH-A1?Thank you.Linda
