Capturing HD100 and Output - vegas

hi
i captured HDV-SD50p footage with vegas
files are M2V , i want to convert them to Avi for Compositing and tracking .
the question is , what codec and format do i have to choose ?
Avi PAL DV , or avi SD Y'u'b preset?
and i know that i have to correct frame rates and changing Fields to Progressive ,
does these 2 format have any diffrence in quality ?
