changing modes on same tape
What are the problems, drawbacks of switching shooting modes (720 to SD) or framerates without switching tapes?

I am not sure but I am looking at an ad for Panasonic AY-DVM63AMQ tapes that can be used for both HDV and SD.
Has anyone had any experience with these tapes? |

I've done this without any problems. On a recent tape I shot a few minutes of HDV, then switched it to SD 4:3 for about 30 minutes of tape, and then back to HDV for the remainder of the tape. Everything worked fine. It was a JVC ProHD tape.
