428 and 438 batteries
Oky you guys sold me on the IDX or AB battery packs, but in the meantime, I understand the BN V428 battery gets poor mileage ... maybe an hour?
How about 438 replacement? How much life is anybody getting with that? |

428 and the 438 batteries
Hi Chuck:
I got both batteries, use them till i got my IDX SYS. Buying the 438 was a waste. The IDX system is all the difference in the world. joe |

I've never even put the original batt on the camera. Go with the pro batteries and don't look back. 3 to 4 + on a battery is the only way to go.

I got my IDX kit for free when I bought my 110. and from what I'm hearing now, they are offering the AB kit for free now.

I checked B&H, and I didn't see a rebate form for AB. So I guess whoever I heard it from was misinformed.

I just got my 110 delivered yesterday. I read about that previous battery pack offer and saw it expired months ago, but didn't know anything about a new offer. I'll be flustered if I learn I slipped through the cracks in between free battery offers!!!
Thanks for the input. Let me know if you hear anything else. |

I hope so. And it looks like, since I bought after May 1, I'm grandfathered in, eh?

May 1 is the new battery rebate offer. It's worth fighting for if you think you "slipped between the cracks".
There are other pro batts out there. I have IDX, but the batteries4broadcast http://www.batteries4broadcast.com/ seem to be excellant value for the money.

438 batteries for me last 62 minutes ok until your IDX or AB system arrive. My IDX just arrived so I'm on cloud nine right now. 3 1/2 hours and I still have 2/3 charge left if I believe the LED readout. I figure I'll get a 9" LCD Varizoom field monitor that uses the JVC/generic batteries for larger monitoring on location. No biggie.. |

which idx battery did you get? the ES7? or a longer lasting battey? The battery I got for free will last me about 3 hours tops. And they're not supposed to have memory effect, correct? Being Lithium ion.
