110u Mic
Hello
I know this has been talk about before. I love this camera but the mic is like a Radio Shack Mic. when i'm in my studio and record direct to camera from my board the sound is very good, but record to the ext/mic and there no presence.I'm surprise because i shot a live show of a group of sing/musicans with my canon XLIS the sound was great same with my FX1 and that was with a rodes video mic using a mini jack.Am i doing some thing wrong ? the JVC MIC is o.k. for speach any thoughts on this would help thank you JOE |

I would say the Rodes Videomic is better than the stock mic on any of the cameras.
The fact that it is xlr or minijack connection has no bearing on the quality of the sound... though almost all good mics have xlr connections, except for the mics that are made for the prosumer cameras that have minijack input and a mics for a couple of mini recorders, but generally a professional mic has a balanced xlr connector. There are several threads on the mics you might use on the JVC camera. Decide on you needs and get one of those. The on-camera mics that would be appropriate in your case range from about $150 to $1000. http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...ight=stock+mic http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...ight=stock+mic |
