Noisy mic pre's on the HD-251/200?
I noticed a lot of noise on the audio tracks even when there is nothing connected to the inputs? Am I the only one with this problem?
I used a Sennheiser HD25 headphone for the test. I turned both input levels to 0, the noise (and a high pitched sound) starts to appear if the monitor volume is at 12:00 it becomes annoying at 12:10 So this is the standard headphone noise. When I turn up the audio input level to 6 the Mic pre's get noisy, with still nothing connected! |

Noise
Hi Marc:
I have a 250 as well and it is as quiet as a mouse! If nothing is connected to the Mike XLRs, make certain that phantom power is turned off ... alternatively, flip the switches to line. The manual specifically states that leaving the Phantom power turned on without a mike attached can lead to noise. |
