Companion camera?
I was looking around b+h and found this GZ-HD7 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...oryNavigation).
Does anyone have any info on this camera? I'm posting it here because I know that a lot of people are waiting for a small companion camera to the HDxxx series that will compliment the footage and match the formats. I also found this review on it: http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...ons-Review.htm Just curious if this camera is jvc's solution to a small companion to the HDxxx. Ben |

This camera is a 1080i camera with on 60i recording modes. It does have a HDV complient mode as well as a full 1920x1080 MPEG-2 mode which I heard doesn't look much better.
The new Canon, the HV20, has a 24P mode on it. While it does record in 1080i, you can downconvert the 24P to 720. It may be the best cheeper camera for this reason. If you want to spend more money, you can get the XL-A1 which has both the 30/24f modes which can also be converted rather nicely. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=14869 I really hope JVC adds their 24P support for a smaller HD100 companion. |
