Can 110U video tapes be played in Sony Z1U?

Is it possible for a Sony Z1U camera to "read" my 110U tapes? Prior to mailing my tape to my friend so he can incorporate my video into one of his projects, I thought I would do this post.
Something tells me I can't. If I am correct, how best can we accomplish this?
thanks,

Jon

No, I don't think it is possible.

No, you can't!
My advise is: capturing the tape as .m2t file to a hard drive and mail that hard drive (very well packed) to him. Unless you can take your camera and use it to capture the tape on his computer.

Jon,

There are two flavors of HDV:

HDV1 - 1280 x 720 Progressive Scan.

HDV2 - 1440 x 1080 Interlaced Scan

At the tape level, they are not interchangeable. Once captured, some NLE's can intermix them.

Regards,
