Diagnosing a problem
Hi I recently posted about a capture problem I am having. I am more confused than ever now as to whether it is a FCP problem or a camera problem.
If anyone has any diagnostic thought it would be greatly appreciated. Here is what is happening: When I try and capture my tape(s) FCp breaks up the clip into seperate clips and at these points there is seconds of footage missing. This doesn't even happen at the same point on the same tape. Having read some thread I changed the pre and post roll to 1 sec and this has cut down how much I lose. To this point it looks like an FCP problem, but then... I have tried capturing on a PC using Cineform connect hd and then converting using streamclip. While caturing a black part came up on the viewfinder, where there is video!, halting the capture. Next time that didn't happen. There were also blips, dropped frames? I have also had one occasion were the video and audio were 2 frames out of sync. And on the same tape above, some of the video captured at a higher speed, though it looked normal in the viewfinder. I have had this problem using ordinary JVC tapes and HD JVC tapes. I am wondering if the camera is having a problem sending the info down the firewire correctly? Thanks Trevor |
