Apple HDV 24p conversion to m2t
I use Mpeg Streamclip to convert m2t files to Apple HDV, etc. Is there a way to do the reverse which is to convert Apple HDV to m2t?
I went tapeless (bad mistake) the other day by using FCP to capture. My friend and I need to edit this using Sony Vegas. Thanks |

The first thing you should do is "print to tape" so that you don't lose everything if you ever have a hard drive crash or accidentally trash your capture files.
Once you do that you will have a tape that you can capture in Sony Vegas. The process will be real-time, but is probably faster and safer than attempting to convert the files otherwise. There will be no generation loss because the stream remains intact as mpeg2, even though it had been wrapped in quicktime at one point. I don't know of an app that can encapsulate (wrap) or I suppose "unwrap" HDV Quicktime and m2t. I wish someone would write one! Mpegstream clip transcodes (generation loss) and can't simply encapsulate.
