Andy, With the DR-HD100, you are recording to a hard drive, so tape drop-outs are not possible. Many of these units are in use now, and it has a very strong track record of proven reliability.

drhd 100
andy,
Ive been using this drive for about 6 months now its very reliable. ive never heard anything about drop outs whats so ever. Its your best bet for tapeless solution. I have heard of problems with clips breaking up instead of continuous shooting. but this was not on the hd 100. shawn |

No problems here!
I've been doing thorough testing the last 2 weeks and never had an error. HD-251E/DR-HD100 Firmware 2.0 |

I have had the DR-HD100 a couple of months too. It works fine - no dropouts

I started using it last month, never go back to tape. No dropouts whatsoever and so much easier to transfer the data to the computer without capturing the tape in the NLE.
