Colour matching hd100 & Sony Z1
Hi
I am doing a shoot on Saturday with 2 hd100's and a Sony Z1. I am using Final Cut Pro and will be downconverting the Z! to 720p to sit on the same time line as my Hd100 footage. Any 'easy' way of setting up the Z1 to look like the HD100, anyone tried this? In camera preferably. Thanks Trevor |

I've been mixing these cameras in SD for a while now. I have an FX1 which is less customizable than the Z1U so I basically shoot to match that. I use PTC3 with no black stretch and standard gamma. I sometimes deviate from this, but I CC heavily in post anyway and end up altering both cameras.
Just make sure you've got the Z1 in cineframe30 or you'll have to de-interlace in post. Also for sharpness my FX1 is not very sharp by default. I often crank it up to 15 and put the HD100 at around -3. A little electronic sharpening can be good if you don't need the "film look." |
