'Back Space' function not explained in the manual

I just bought a DR-HD100 for my HD100.
In the manual of the DR-HD100 it sais to set the 'Back Space' to 'P-1394'.
On my camera I find this item in the Menu 'Other' page 2/2.
It can switch between 'P-Tape' and 'P-1394'.
I was looking in the manual, but I can't find it. Then I downloaded the PDF manual from JVC-America, but it's not described either.
So I guess this function was added with the latest firmware, but it is never added in the manuals that I can find.
Does anyone from JVC has a proper explaination of this setting?

try downloading the manual for the HD110. In there, the P-1394/Tape function is described on page 81. It relates to the time delay initiated by the camera on an external device tape trigger.

When you sent in your HD100 for the A update it should have been shipped back with a single addendum page describing the two new menu items. Mine was yellow. Check your box, it should be there.

Thanks Bill and Tim,
My camera has all the updates, but there was no paper included.
I'll download the HD110 manual instead for page 81.

Marc,

Here's a link for the GY-HD110U (US Version) manual. The info you need is in there.

I knew this forum would help me out. Thanks Carl.
While I'm reading the pages I understand I need to put it at P-1394 for secure recording on the DR-HD100.
There is one item on Page 82: 'DR-HD100 A.OFF' which I don't have available in my HD100E camera which has all the updates.
Do I need another firmware update to have this function available? This would be a killer to have. To save battery-power by turning off the DR-HD100 automatically.

Hi Marc,

You might need an update. I'm not as certain on the "E" models. Please check with JVC tech support in your country.
