Adding Wireless mic, Firestore, and Battery?
I am looking to buy two HD-200s (when available) and have this burning question. I'm used to working with the Betacam form factor where you can pretty much add anything.
One thing that may be the dealbreaker is the cams inability to record to standard size DV tapes. So has anyone succesfully mounted a wireless bucket and the firestore HDR unit along with Pro Batteries? I've seen the thingamajing from IDX and Anton Bauer that puts the HDR on the side. Looks handy but where then would you mount a solid wireless bucket? We use the Audio Tehcnica U100 series. Anyone? |

Hi Justin,
Don't know if this is any help but I have IDX with firestore so made a custom bracket to fit into the hot shoe mount at the front that comes back about 6 cm and allows two wireless g2 recievers to sit either side of the carry handle just slightly back from the top record button. It was important to keep these as central as possible as I use this set up with a flyer rig also and the firestore/IDX bracket already creates a bit of a bias. If this helps I'll try and post a pick if I have the wrong end of the stick however please ignore the above. Regards Greg C |

Greg,
Thanks for the response. I need the shoe for the light becuase we do a hell of a lot of run and gun. I can't beleive there isn't a solution for this so hopefully someone will chime in here! |

Anton Bauer will manage both using these pieces:
Mount the wireless on side of AB Gold Mount: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...cessory_detail http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search Mount the hard drive on the back of the AB battery -- go to the second page: http://www.antonbauer.com/pdf-files/ProHD%20Sheet.pdf General info is available on the AB website: http://www.antonbauer.com/wireless.htm Since the AT wireless receiver is a bit larger than some, check dimensions. Anton Baur site -- see JVC camera info on bottom of page: http://www.antonbauer.com/home.htm |

Justin, there may be a possible way to still use the hot shoe mount with the wireless reciever coming from same location if you get hold of a double sided shoe connector i.e. slotting into shoe one side with a new hot shoe slot on the other. I'm sure I saw one of these when I was making the bracket for my gear I think it was manfrotto but not sure. I'll have a think and get back to you.
Greg C. P.S. When you say wireless bucket are you talking about individual wireless recievers or a bigger unit? |

I'e got one of these... you have to have a 25 pin reciever unit, but then you never have to worry about whether your reciever is getting power or changing out batteries. As long as you don't mind it sapping camera power that is. it requires a seperate (i made my own custom length) cable that goes out the side of the box on the same side as the inputs do on the Gy-hd100 |
