More on Motion Smoothing....?

Hi all,

I read some of the posts on the Motion Smoothing and am wondering if my problem is due to that.

I am shooting all at 30p right now and am shooting a lot of architectural stuff with a lot of motion...but I am seeing like a strobe or breakup of the image in some of my pans and tilts...seems to be mainly at the start or end of a move.

After the viewing the first round of shooting...I notice that MS was on so I turned it off thinking that may be the problem. After yesterdays shoot...I had the same problem with it off.

Any suggestions?

You use two words: strobe and breakup. I suspect you are seeing the "eye strobing artifact" not MPEG-2 artifacts.

Follow this link for a complete explanation:

This artifact is why many of us want to shoot 60p and neither 30p nor 24p.
