Shooting Events at Night

Has anyone been shooting live events at night, like shows and concerts, outdoors?
I've got a job coming up, and for start, I'm going to shoot SD50i, because it's more suitable for fast motion, and also because of low light performance.
Which settings are you using for this kind of situation?
Thanks.

When we shoot a live concert we just used 3200 K preset. Turned out great! We used 720/30p. But we didn't use slow-fast motions.
