TC Break problems
Hey Guys,
Recently at work we've had a stringer shooting for us with a 101 that has had the A upgrade. Hes been shooting everything in dv 4:3. Our digitizer is currently away so im having to digitize some stuff myself. Anyway, I had 4 tapes come back a week or so ago littered with breaks through out them. One of them had 63 on one tape. It was not fun getting them into xpress pro. I found out the opp that had been using the camera on that shoot was not actually the owner of the hd101 and put it down to him not knowing how to set up time code on the tape. However ive just got a new tape in from the same camera and i spoke to the opp before he went out and shot it, he is the actual owner of the camera. He assured me his camera was fine and agreed with me when i had said i thought it was the other opp's fault. I've yet to get 2 minutes into the tape and i've already had 2 TC breaks. So, does my opp not know how to set the TC on his tapes or does he camera need to go in and get a service? What i do with my Z1 when setting a tape is have 30 secs of bars in preset TC and then switch it back to regen and go from there, is this the same on the hd100/101? If you can let me know what TC settings your using i'll find out what our stringer is using and compare. Thanks Joe PS: we're running avid xpress pro 4.3, old i know, may this be a problem? |
