white balance

Has anyone experienced any white balance consistencys. I have 3 HD100's and for the last two shoots, I can't seem to get all the cameras on the same white balance. They are all balanced in the same light and positiion, same method for all of them. There is always one that doesn't want to match. eg. 2 are 5200k 1 is 6500k or vice versa. I have triple checked all the camera settings and they are all identical.

Thanks
Brian

5200K & 3200K are the only presets that I'm aware of.

Hey Brian,

Maybe dumb question but you are white balancing them while setting next to one another, all with the same light source? Or you are doing the white balance with each camera from it's designated spot for the shoot yet under the same light?

I have seen some varying results (very slight) when white balance is performed under the same color balanced lights, but with the camera in different locations and more or less light value.

I've had some tricky WB situations in low light where it comes out different in the same spot. This is where the light is so low that I need gain just to get a reading. Also if there are two different (even slightly) color source lights in the area the slightest move to one side or the other can affect the reading. However if you're gettting consistently different temps from the same camera, I would suspect there's something that should be checked out. Did it come back saying a different temp and looking different, or did it look the same, but say a different temp? Is it always the same camera?

same position

All the cameras were balanced at the same white card and at the exact same position. The color temp reads different but the image is fairly close, I still have to check the footage. You can't tell much with the lcd or viewfinder. I have to wade through a lot of tapes, this is for a new reality show. BTW, it was balanced outdoor on a nice sunny day. There is not any specific camera that is different, kinda random.

Does it look off in balance with the preset too or just the MWB.
