Quick Questions re: HD100 batteries
Going to be shooting with the HD100 tomorrow but not sure if the battery will be charged when I pick it up -- how long does it take to charge the battery and how much continuous shooting will I get out of one charge? Should I pick up an extra battery at B&H? How long would I get out of that battery and how long will it take to charge?
Thanks, mg |

Are you talking about the JVC BN-428U battery bundled with the basic camera kit? It'll give you a maximum of maybe 40 minutes of total recording time from a full charge. The optional JVC BN-438 will give you about 60 minutes of recording time. The charge cycle for the included battery (the BN-428) is about three hours and twenty minutes. Hope this helps,

Do you have a power plug nearby? If not, you better hope the camera comes with an A/B or IDX battery system.

thanks for the info guys. I actually picked up a 438 battery as well and even though i only had it on the charger for maybe forty five minutes, i got about fifty five minutes recorded to tape which thankfully was enough today. definitely looking forward to getting the anton bauer battery package rebate though.
