Hi

I have been looking at this: www.symbiosiseu.com/index.php?m=11

which is a box that takes the mpeg 2 stream of hdv and then decompresses it using some clever maths so that you end up with 4:2:2 video.

I always thought that you can't effectively add back pixel info that is not there. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this?

If it actually works well then this seems great. Film on mini dv and then back at your desk up convert it to much higher quality. It's £1295+VAT (in the UK obviously!)

Oh and you would still need a £500 blackmagic card to capture it. But this could really end my attraction to the Panasonic HVX200 IF it works!
