how about...
How about the Voice tech vt500's, or the Tram tr50's?
I know, I know, countryman is the darling, but are these comparable? I have the g2's and would like to upgrade, and these have been recommended. Also, are you guys recording straight to camera, or to an external recorder? I've been too busy playing with the visual side of my new camera to really set up a controlled audio test and see if the mpeg2 compression sounds good enough. I will be using a sound devices 302 to mix. |

Straight to the camera 90% of the time. But I believe the audio would still sound close to the same going to an external recorder when coming from these mics.
Again, don't get me wrong the G2 kits do a great job, but like a lot of kits it could be better.
