"turn Power Off Turn Back On Later"

I get this warning every time I turn on the camera now. Battery or house current, still the same story. The manual on page 86 says this is a "system error when power is turned on." As a remedy is states to "Turn off the power and let the unit sit for some time before turning it back on."

That's an exceptionally vague description and a near worthless remedy. Anyone got any other info?

Update: My JVC usually sits in an airconditioned office. I took it out to the 85 degree and humid studio floor and the warning went away. Our camera operator says the betacam does the same thing, a moisture warning occurs then shuts itself off once the camera is moved into a warmer environment. Problem solved? Sure hope so.

Well you shouldn't be getting a condensation warning in an air conditioned office, unless you got the camera damp, in which case getting it into a heated environemnt should eventually dry it out. If it is the problem I'd be disappointed the warning wasn't clearer.

ACtually it's the betacam that gets moisture warnings. Our operator and service tech said it's common with pro cameras. The warning on my HD100 said nothing about moisture, just "turn power off turn back on later". But, as I said, as soon as i removed the cam from the cold office the warnig went away and hasn't come back since. i called jvc and they were cautious and said "observe the camera" . we'll see.
