tc regen vs. free vs. rec
who's using which and for what purpose would one use one over the other. can somebody give a laymans explanation of each? I see the free as a continuing count of tc.
Thanks |

TC REC - time code advances only when camera records to tape
TC FREE - time code advances all the time, even when camera is off; usefull for live events when set to time of day, indicating when particular footage was shot TC REGEN - when a tape is ejected and then re-inserted back to the camera, it allows to 'pick up' the TC from the end of the tape and to continue from there on. The tape has to be cued up to a place where there IS an existing TC. Best method is to cue up to few seconds before the end of the previous recording and then press the RET button on the lens.
