media card
My HD100 didn't come with a Media card. are they standard cards or is it proprietary? are they essential?
I live overseas and it's gonna be another big hassle to get my US vendor to provide one with the shipping and all... |

SD cards
Any standard SD card will do. If you can find a cheap source for the smaller ones (16-32mb) grab a bunch, the larger ones tend to be more expensive and you can only put a maximum of 4 scene files on any SD card no matter the size, so don't waste your cash on the big ones.

Hey Brian, I almost lost the sd card as well. It came packaged in bubble wrap with just the sd card inside. If you happen to unfold all of the bubble wrap and other packaging material for the camera, the sd card could get lost in the waste and may have been thrown out. Just a theory.

Indeed. I almost thought my card was missing too until I found it hidden within the packaging. Be sure to look very carefully through all the bubble wrap before throwing any away (unless you already have).
