Fitting the HD-100 in the SMALLEST carry-on case
Hi,
I'll be flying to Tunica to shoot some video this weekend. So how to transport the HD-100? Well, amazingly enough, by removing a few pieces the camera fits into the briefcase sized, Pelican 1500 case. This case is small enough to fly as a hand-carried personal item. Thus my HD-100 will be protected from baggage smashers and theft by not being in the cargo hold. Remove the sunshade, the microphone, all batteries or battery mounts and the viewfinder. The camera easily fits inside the smaller case, when arranged as shown in the photo. Please see the picture of the pieces removed and the case at: http://edhillphoto.yafro.com/photo/11113762

Thanks! I just sent one with my partner on a trip to Spain, Argentina and Morocco. We took off what we could and packed it in a small suitcase full of foam... doh!

use a cheap hand luaggae case with wheels and handle
Hi
i use a cheap luaggage case with wheels and handle and just use my dirty laundry to put in as protective layer, alothough serach thruly by Japan customs but seems working well, i carry it go anywhere and look cheap , i did some candid shot on street just sit down and quietly set up put mic and viewfinder back and shoot. sometiem i flip the LCD without viewfinder and work with it down on ground or on my lab. anyway is take the lens out as well and this will fit into a small backpack. i tend like to take the clip for the mic out too. use a mount coem with my azden to mount on shoe on the handle. cheers JY |
