deck options on ebay?
Will those single chip JVC consumer camcorders function as decks for the hd100?? Might be a good way to keep the tape transport from wearing out too fast.

Probably not a good idea, those cams can't read material recorded in 24p.

How about in SD 24p. Tapes shot in DVX'S can be offloaded from other mini dv cams.

Can you think twice about that?! Consumer means consumer, professional is professional. It's like buying a family car for using off-road. Think for the future use of the consumer camcorder- It has a consumer mechanism, with plastics and only plastics which is not so reliable. It's made for consumer purposes. If you want a deck buy a real deck. Here in Romania we have a "word" which translated can be as follows: if you have money stay in front, if you don't have money, stay at your place. Don't undestand me wrong, I'm trying to help you. |

But if you want something that you can use as a deck to preview footage, then it won't work, because they can't display the footage. Only transport it. You'd have to have something attached via the firewire that can interpret and display the 24p signal, because an HD1 or HD10 can't. |
