harddisk

I have a GY-hd101 and I am really very happy with it. Great results! Now I'am filming on tape, but I want to use, in the future, the harddisk. Do I still need to buy the recorder/player BR-HD50, or is it possible to do everthing, I mean loading the Avid, with that harddisk? It will save me a lot of money!
