More Scene file example footage available here.

Hi guys and gals,

What could be better to do on a Friday off then take a camera out and test some scene files? Not much! What a fabulous camera and the footage is so easy to work with. I'd be interested in making a collection of scene files for everyone to have access to. What are your thoughts?

Anyway, I made WMV and DivX example files of winter type scenes from Chicago. TRT is about 4 min so the files are big.

WMV (228MB) Higher quality encode

DivX (120MB) Lower quality encode

Keep shooting!

Open up the SD card in a card reader. You'll see there is EXT1.SCN through EXT4.SCN. Those files are the ones that the camera can read. Now, in order for the camera to read a SCN file shared by another user, you'll have to rename the file to one that the camera understands, for instance:

Take the scene file named FilmNoir.SCN and rename it EXT1.SCN and place it on the SD card. Now when you select EXT1 from the camera's scene files you'll notice in the brackets it reads FilmNoir.

My absolute biggest wish for a firmware update would be to accomodate more than 4 scene files from the card. As it is now you can only load EXT1 through EXT4 and you have to remember what they are by looking at the card reader. I've placed a TXT file on mine to try and keep all the scene files straight when I rename them.
