Cinema Tools 24 to 23.98 Problems
I've successfuly captured all my JVC footage using HDVxDV and converted to Quicktime with the AIC codec. It plays beautifuly in FCP 5 in both 24 and 23.98 sequences. I've taken Tim's advice to use CT to convert these to 23.98, but I'm getting the following error every time...
Begin Mon, Dec 19, 2005 5:06:37 PM Conform SF-1-2.mov 5:06:37 PM Skipped -- The movie has temporal compression SF-1-2.mov. Done Mon, Dec 19, 2005 5:06:37 PM Is this saying it's already time compressed? All the analysis I did says that it's exactly 24 fps. Do I even need to bother doing this step, since it's working fine as is? Should I choose 24 or 23.98 then for my settings? The audio is not an issue, we're using what's on the tape, but we will be downconverting to SD as well. I'm also wondering if a Kona 2 or LH card would be able to downconvert to SD in real time, and how it looks. I tried dropping a clip into an NTSC 29.97 sequence and rendering. Horrible! Like bad VHS. Any advice? Thanks, Brett |
