The Cineform software showcase simply gives you the option to grow and it does not hold you back.
You'd have to move up the Liquid food chain for that (Liquid ChromeHD). Liquid Chrome HD in it's current form (Liquid 6) is an 8 bit application with 8 bit delivery (even though the "classic" FX/Transitions and color corrections are subpixel 16 bit). The next Chrome (based on Liquid 7) is unknown about it's 10 or 12 bit delivery capability. We'll have to see.

Actually this is a different subject (HD component capture or HD-SDI capture) from HDV capture and edit. I like the idea of the Wiafan (spelling) capture device and I'd like to see it in action with the HD-100 or the XL-H1. What you've pointed out is a great thing in that these camaras are more capable than just capturing to tape. They can feed analog out to whatever catpure codec gizmo you have connected.

best,

I know much of the dicussion has been focused on if you weren't using CineForm (completely crazy I know ;) .) Just to make sure the message isn't lost: Aspect HD and Prospect HD have had fully working JVC HD100U 24p and 25p support since the launch of the camera. All real-time on cheap PC hardware. Other companies will catch up, but they aren't here yet, their size slows them down. CineForm is a small company, that means we are more nimble and can spin software updates faster than any of the big players. Our market is focused on HDV/HD and Film, not DV, not SD or any other distraction.

P.S. Expect Canon 24F support in about a week.
