Quick question about gy-hd100u battery
I have a JVC GY-HD100U camera and it uses the JVC BN-V428U battery which has 3 prong connectors on it.
Can I also use a BN-V428 battery which has 4 prongs on the connectors instead of 3? I didn't try it in case it were to short something out. Thank you. |

Re: Quick question about gy-hd100u battery
I didn’t think the locating lugs allowed that one to be fitted? I’d certainly try it and see if physically the thing aligns and risk a quick ‘power flick’

Re: Quick question about gy-hd100u battery
I looked at he sides of the battery where the slots are and they seem to be the same but the prongs are one off. Online it mentions something about these 2 but just not sure I will risk trying it yet. I have a shoot in a few days. I may have to research it a little more.

Re: Quick question about gy-hd100u battery
Seriously, are the batteries flat? If they are then you can do a power off fit and see if they align physically. If there is charge and you have the correct battery pack as well then just stick a meter on them and check the voltage and polarity. If there is one contact with no matching partner then it won’t cause issues. You can often check mating by putting a sheet of thin paper between, cut to size that will show you the indentations of a match and act as an insulator to prevent shorts
