Best/Cheapest way to downconvert to DV from the HD100?
I am planning to shoot a short sequence soon on the HD100, and I am wondering what the best way is to downconvert to DV format so I can have some samples in roughly DVD-resolution format?
Will I have to pay a post house to do this for me? Thanks. |

Most NLE programs have facilities for export of NTSC from an HDV timeline.
I'd investigate that route...the particulars vary from NLE to NLE.

You mean downconvert on a PC? I don't have that great of a system, though, to capture the ProHD onto the PC in the first place. I just have a PC and Premiere Pro.

Investigate what it's going to take to get your Premiere Pro HDV ready. It might be just as simple as downloading the free HDV plug-in.
Then from there I'd imagine it's just a matter of exporting an NTSC compliant .avi or Quicktime file for DVD encoding. With Final Cut Pro, as long as you're careful with your methods, this works incredibly well.
