CCD assembly Kaput.
My beloved HD100 needs a new CCD assembly. Is JVC the only place to get one? Anyone know who/where/what to contact?
Anyone every replace one? I'm thinking I shouldn't sink more than $500 in to the part. |

I got in touch with JVC. CCD assembly is...gulp...$1481. Next question, is there any market for the stock JVC lens? does it fit on other cameras? I'll keep the body because it's still go good deck. But the lens and IDX battery system is now homeless. As is the Kata case and the FS4 Firestore.

Just to give you idea, the HD200 CCD assembly is about $1300.
Cypress, California is where you will ship your camera to if you decide to fix it.

That's odd, was the part from JVC? JVC was the one who quoted me $1400+. Ah well, it's moot, I have a couple of GH2 bodies now. Nice thing about the GH2 is I can actually afford different lenses. What was that Fujinon 13x? $9,000 I think.
