HDV 24p using 48/sec shutter speed
I've just shot some Music Video footage using my HD110u in HDV 24p using V3 scene files but I'm most concerned about a mistake I made, when I was setting the scene files I didn't remember to set the shutter to 24/sec, all the time it was on 48/sec, can anyone tell me, what will be the problem when I'm editing in FCP? or if there is a problem at all. I must say the footage looks fantastic.

from what I understand, 1/48th is a decent shutterspeed for 24p.

Hi, Winston. You did right. No worries.
When shooting 24p you want the shutter speed at no less then 48. If you would have set to 24 the footage would have excessive motion blur. Higher than that and you get the "saving private ryan" look. No problem in the edit bay. It should look great. If it doesn't, check your project settings in FCP. |
