The right lens....

Hi!
I have the GY HD-200 camera with the Fujinon 13x lens.
Now we are thinking of getting the new 700 model and keeping the 200 as a B-camera.
But this leaves me with wich lens to buy with the 700.
We have thought of buying itt with the 20x canon lens - so we had to different lenses - and then got a more telephoto lens.
The downside is that the min object distance is 1m.
Any ideas and suggestions?
Is the 14x canon lens the same as the our fujinon 13x?
And is there a better min object distance??

Feedback is much apriciated!

Not even CLOSE!

Early reports are that the 14x Canon is a disappointment in the image quality department.

The Fuji 13x is a ~$9kUSD lens. The Canon 14x is probably a $2-2.5kUSD lens.

The 14xCanon-lens will be better then the
16xFujinon, the lens is now around 4 -5 month
late, because Canon must solve technical issues,
I think problems with CA's at the wide end
of the lens. But the 13xFujinon is a really
good lens!

Deal done

Now I am the owner of two JVC´s. Just bought the new 700 camera with the canon 20x lens - so we now have both the fujinonn 13x and the canon 20x.

Congratulations Henrik. Love to see some examples of what the 20x can do...

Also nice to see a company with a budget for gear in this day and age.

looking forward to the 13x Fujinon to 20x Canon shoot out.... I wonder if the final production 14x canon will improve CA at the wide end.

Is there much CA on the 13x Fujinon? It's hard to imagine a sub-$2K kit lens will outperform a $6500 lens, no matter who makes it.

Brian: there seems to be some confusion. The 20x Canon lens in question is $8800 at our friends B&H

Canon | KT20x5B-KRS 20x 1/3" HDGC Lens | KT20X5B KRS | B&H

And the 13x Fuji is $6600

Fujinon | TH13x3.5BRMU 13x 1/3" JVC ProHD | TH13X3.5BRMU

Yesterday I bought my HM 700 with Canon 14x, I like the DOF
and less/nearly nothing CA's. The lens really good centered
when I zoom in, really nice, I love this lens.

Oops. My mistake. I was mistaking the Canon 20x for the Canon 14x.
