GY-HD110E and Avid Liquid 7.2 skipping frames
I'm capturing HDV 720p25 footage from my GY-HD110E camcorder into Avid Liquid 7.2.
The capture goes well (EZ Capture or Logging Tool). No droppouts reported. I playback my timeline (same properties as native capture, so no rendering). I notice occasional skips, like a couple of frames edited out. I check and, yes, definitely something is missing (I can hear the 'skip' in the audio, too). My deduction is that Liquid is finding bad code and creating I frames at the best place it can determine (-1 to +1 frame accuracy for ProHd) (?). A few of these can be a nightmare to fix, even work with. I've played back my captured footage with other mpeg editors (trial versions) and players. They show the droppouts/flaws while retaining the timing. So, these are easy to see and fix. No skipping them! Is there a workaround in Avid Liquid 7.2 for this? Anyone experienced this before? I tried capturing with other software, like HDSplit, and on other computers. Liquid occasionally skips over areas in playback. |
