Skin Detail settings with JVC HD200u

I am curious, should I set the skin settings on the JVC HD200u before or after I put filters in front of the camera? Including, possibly, a diffusion filter. Or, should I leave it off?

Thank you for any advice.

If you use it do your skin tone sample after you have added filters, made your WB & other adjustments and set your exposure.

Thank you very much Tim. On another note, you mentioned previously that there was a difference between the white Pro tapes and the dark grey Pro tapes. Could you elaborate on that?

Thank you as always for your extremely informative responses.
