Firestore DR-HD100 Timecode Problems

I am sorry if this question has already been asked elsewhere, but I searched the forum and could not find it.

My question is this- is there anyway to get the Firestore to generate its own timecode without a tape in the camera? I have it set up so I can record to the firestore just fine, triggered by the camera's record button with no tape- however the timecode on all of my clips always starts at 0:00 on each and every clip, instead of the second clip having different timecode then the first clip.

I know I can use tape and just pick up the timecode from the camera, but it would be nice to know if there is anything I can do without sticking a tape in.
