Help crisper image needed

I just made the jumb into Hd and I am not getting that sparkle harsh video crisp out of my footage. It looks just like SD and no I have the camera recording in HDV HD30p Can anyone help?

Also is there a way to have and HDV in 4:3 aspect ratio?

You should be blown away with the footage over SD. HDV does not do 4.3

Start out by making sure that your backfocus is really dialed in...

Consider getting the fiddleheads chart from DSC. http://www.dsclabs.com/resolution.htm

Are you importing HDV via firewire and/or analog and not down converted to SD?
