Panasonic HD Tapes in JVC-110?
Anyone using the Panasonic DVM63HD tapes in their JVC HD100/110? I've only put one JVC HD tape thru my 110 but would like to switch to Panasonic as I use those in my other cameras.

I've been using Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ in my 110 and haven't had a single drop-out or tape problem.
EDIT: KEEP THE HEADS CLEAN! Get a head cleaning tape. Last edited by Levi Bethune; May 17th, 2008 at 08:46 PM. Reason: additional info |

OK, great. I've only run about one or two JVC tapes thru it so I don't anticipate any problems switching this early on. Thanks!

My understanding is there there are two types of tape lubricant, and thus, two types of residue. Wet, and Dry.
I am also under the persuasion that Panasonic and JVC both use dry, and Sony uses Wet, so the only real precaution you should take as far as getting the gunk out is if you're switching between wet and dry lubricated tapes. Again, this is my limited knowledge, if I'm incorrect, please chime in, I've only had experience with these three tape brands. It never hurts to clean the heads between tape stock. |
