Convert HD100U to HD100E/HD101E
Hi Everyone,
I've broached this topic before but to be honest I've never really found out. I own a US-originated GY-HD100U(A) (I'm living in Ireland now). My question is this: would it be possible to convert this camera into a HD100E/HD101E by applying the appropriate firmware. I primarily shoot everything in 720P25 but the option of shooting straight up PAL Standard Defintion DV. Any input would be appreciated. I would happily a European JVC dealer to carry this out were it possible. Thanks. Last edited by Michael Hurley; April 22nd, 2008 at 11:59 AM. Reason: Title a bit misleading. |

Hi Michael,
I'm not sure you can because I bought my HD-100 in Tokyo and believe it or not it is an international model, It does PAL/NTSC in DV. I think it has a different board, so you can't just put a firmware upgrade to it, I work at Panavision Sydney and one of the engineers upgraded my firmware and even he was abit confused as to how my camera can do both settings, he then tried to convert one of the HD101E's but couldn't convert it over.
