A really cheap battery solution is from Global Media Pro. Charger $70 AUD. Batteries are half the cost of most other solutions. The batteries are solid. I have used this solution for about one year now with no difficulties at all.

As to the quality of the cam I have shot about two hundred hours on the JVCHD100 without any issues at all (apart from a dead pixel around 50 hours - worth checking on biggish monitor every now and again).
