Im not sure where I would even use that, Now im torn part of me wants to try and pul $1,000 out of my butt and get this while its avalible and part of me wants to wait for NAB hoping JVC may release a cheaper tape playback solution. Thanks for the insight.

one last question, If I firewire from my NLE back to the deck in HD will it pass through the signal to the compoent out to a monitor?

I believe so, I have it doing that via composite to a monitor. You can download the manual from here:
