How much does it cost to replace a CCD block for the GY-HD110U
Apparently my CCD block is blown in my camera. I bought this camera a little over three months ago from B and H used. I am uncertain about their warranty policies on used equipment and think I might have to pay out of pocket for this replacement. Does anybody know approximately how much a new CCD block would cost?

You'll probably just have to call JVC service this week and ask.

The going rate for replacement of 3-CCD assemblies costs about the same among the mfg's.
Expect to pay just under $ 1,000 USD including labor. What kind of problem are you having? |

You can find some part pricing info here. Just enter your model number and it gives you a list:

I have the same problem, a few yellow dots appeared on the image and the problem is with one of the filters of the CCDs. The CCD block costs €1200 (+/-$1800) plus VAT and labour. The other option was to send the block to Japan to be repaired with laser technology. My camera is not under warranty but, since it was a manufactury issue JVC will repair it free of charge. The problem is that I will have to wait around 3 months for it... I decided to buy the HD200 and then sell this one.

Hahaha, LOL.... How much do you think it costs to make the camera?....If you really knew, you'd be pissed! These companies gotta afford all that advertising somehow.

I know its cheaper for them to make the camera but usally the parts are over priced. I would think a Firewire board would be a least a few hundred bucks. If that is the right part.
