New operator malfunction??

Finally got my GY-110U. After going thru the setup, got some great pics(about 2.5 minutes worth logged so far!). The next time out of the bag, no pic in the viewfinder nor side panel. Playback works fine. I've used AC, AB battery and supplied small battery - no difference. I have neither attached or detached any electrical hookups with power on. Worn out the manual and this forum looking for fixes and like problems but nothing. I have a feeling it's probably something stupid I've overlooked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm rapidly running out of hair.

Hi Joe,

Sorry, I forgot to mentionit - yes, sure did. That's how I knew everything in the VTR mode worked. Going back to CAM mode, all the data for Cam showed in the window, time/date, audio levels, etc.

Joe,

Tried it in FAS and manual. Still looks as if the lens cap is on. (It's not) I was hoping there was some hidden switch or something that I may have hit on the way into or out of the bag. We've gone through the setup in the manual a dozen times but same result. But hey, don't stop now.

Joe,

Yes. No bent or missing pins. Good snug fit.

Shai,

Just the numbers on the iris ring.

Joe,

I gave up, called JVC who thinks it's the CCDs so it's on its way to the service center. Never fails. We're a small studio just finishing converting to HD with a new project starting. Thanks for the inputs.

Mr Browning,

Have you contacted JVC to see if you might qualify for an exchange under our 30 day exchange policy? Please this website for information:

Carl,

As you can see above, the camera is at the service center hopefully getting quickly fixed.

We would not qualify for the 30 day exchange since we've had the camera for over 30 (01 Oct). After the initial setup and checkout, we had other ongoing jobs and we were waiting for additional equipment. BYW, the JVC plate adapter caused us the longest wait. When it finally arrived, we set up for our first HD job and promptly sent the camera back to JVC! Oh, Well.

Thanks anyway, Carl
