Down-convert HDV to DV: The easy way

I have a GY-HD101E with a fried HDV firewire, and i have to give my client a DVD copy of the event i shoot.
But how can i even capture it?
So i connected my HD101 via composite to my DSR-11, and captured the video on the fly as DV PAL Anamorphic, it looks excellent and was really easy to do.

Glad it worked. Why not create the DVD from you HDV edit?

Can't capture HDV because the HDV firewire doesn't work.
